One of the reasons why burglars avoid homes and establishments with CCTV cameras is because of the probability of getting caught on tape while doing their crimes. However, there are some felons who would stop at nothing just to burglarize a property. Although there are CCTV systems installed in the premises, they still manage to elude the surveillance and get away with their crimes.
As space owners and managers, we need to be one step ahead of these threats. If they know how to allude the surveillance, find a way to conceal it so these felons would think that they are not being watch and so they will get caught in the act:
- Use your shrubs
If you have a lawn or a garden filled with shrubs and plants, then use it to your advantage. Cleverly hide the security camera behind the floras and the plants. Burglars are always in a hurry and checking the plants for CCTV cameras would be the last thing on their mind.
Check with CCTV installation companies in Dubai for a plan on how they are going to make this happen.
- Use surveillance devices that are not too obvious
Sometimes, the one that gives away your CCTV and security system is the device itself. It is too big and too obvious to conceal. There are modern CCTV cameras today that are small and coated in dark coloring so that it wouldn’t be too obvious when it is installed. Do some inspection and assess if your security device is too obvious. If you can see from a mile away, it might be high time for some upgrade.
And do not worry if the device is small, modern CCTV cameras today are built to maximum coverage to cover large areas despite their small size.
- Camouflage the device using different items
Some homeowners are very creative on hiding their security system from plain sight. It would be best to do the same. Some clever places to install your security cameras are on the bird house, the rocks. Just be sure to look for places that are not too obvious. Scan your premises and see where concealed places to install your cameras, but be sure it is feasible.
- Place it somewhere that is not too obvious
Burglars probably know the drill – where people usually place their CCTV cameras. If this is the case, the best thing to do is to outsmart them by putting your CCTV devices in a room that the burglars won’t bother checking. But be sure that the device will able to cover the important spot from where it is installed.
